Galaxy Gear 2 may have already been teased on Samsung UK’s Twitter account
Samsung’s first smartwatch model was not exactly the best sold device in the company’s mobile device lineup in 2013 – even though Samsung’s PR would have you think otherwise – and the company is already preparing to change Gears this year.
The company posted the image below on its Samsung UK account with a few days to go to CES 2014, a major tech event of the beginning of the year where the company is expected to unveil a few mobile devices, even though they’re expected to be mainly tablets.

The company seems to imply that the original Galaxy Gear was just the beginning when it comes to Samsung wearable devices, and that a Galaxy Gear 2 model may be in the works.
Previous reports did say that the company is indeed working on a second-generation smartwatch, hopefully one that will be more popular with the crowds. Will the Galaxy Gear 2 be unveiled at CES in just a few days, or will it arrive at MWC? It’s too early to tell, but we’ll definitely keep you in the loop.
For what it’s worth, the Galaxy Gear 2 may not be the only new smartwatch this year, with Pebble already teasing something for CES and Apple being rumored to work on an iWatch of its own. Add to that all the other companies rumored to have smartwatch plans for the future, including Microsoft and Google, and the smartwatch business becomes more and more interesting.
