T-Mobile online ad tips Uncarrier 4 to include payment of switcher ETFs

T-Mobile Uncarrier 4 ETF leak

Today’s the day that T-Mobile is set to officially unveil the next phase in its Uncarrier plans, but as is usually the case with any big news in the wireless world, details of T-Mo’s announcement have leaked out ahead of the event.

An advertisement for T-Mobile began appearing online this morning that promises that the big magenta operator will “pay your family’s termination fees when you trade in your devices.” The ad, spotted by Droid-Life, goes on to say that the offer is valid with the purchase of qualifying service and device as well as a port-in of up to five lines from AT&T, Sprint or Verizon.

We’ll have to wait until T-Mobile’s event later today in order to get the nitty-gritty details of its new offering, but so far it sounds like a nice addition to Magenta’s Uncarrier repertoire. Early termination fees can be a be a big barrier to switching for some people, especially those with families that have several lines of service. Obviously T-Mo’s offer will have certain stipulations attached to it — Droid-Life suggests that T-Mo may only up to $350 for families of 3 or more — but that’d still take a pretty hefty chunk out of a group’s ETF.

T-Mobile will kick off its Uncarrier 4.0 event at 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET, so be sure to keep it locked to PhoneDog to learn exactly what John Legere and Co. have planned for the next phase of their Uncarrier transformation.
