Oppo has officially announced the launch date window of their upcoming flagship, the Oppo R7, through the company’s Weibo page.According to the announcement, the company plans to release the Oppo R7 sometime in May. The exact date of the launch will probably be revealed at the beginning of next month. The announcement also mentioned that the Oppo R7 will definitely feature a full metal body with a smooth flat back panel which could be seen from previously leaked images of the R7.The Oppo R7 will also feature the company’s VOOC flash charge technology which allows for fast charging by safely providing 4,000mA at 5V of current to the device for faster charging times. Today, image renders of the Oppo R7 were leaked through Chinese social media site Weibo. Additionally, renders of a larger, previously unknown R7 variant, the Oppo R7 Plus, were also leaked.While the leaked renders of the R7 reveal that Oppo has foregone its previously expected bezel-less design, the image renders of the newly leaked R7 Plus show that the larger variant of the R7 features razor thin bezels. The renders of the R7 Plus surprisingly look a lot like the Mate7 from Huawei only without the rear fingerprint sensor and LED flash. The absence of the LED flash is actually quite concerning but reports suggest that the R7 Plus will use an IR laser focus for its camera.
