Meizu M2 Passes TENAA, features MT6735 & 2GB RAM
We have been hearing a lot about the successor of the Meizu M1 entry level handset. The company seems to be unveiling brand new Blue Charm devices every six months. Earlier this month, we saw Meizu release the Meizu M2 Note and today, we have come across a TENAA listing of the Meizu M2 hinting that the launch might be near.
The listing reveals that Meizu M2 will feature a 5-inch 720p display with MT6735 quad-core 64-bit chipset. The highlight of this chip is its full network connectivity support. There will be 2GB RAM on board, which is another welcome move for an entry level device. As for the cameras, there will be a 13MP shooter at the back, along with a 5MP front facing one. The battery is also pretty decent, and is of 2700mAh capacity. Finally, the phone supports dual SIM dual standby with 4G LTE and will run on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop version right out of the box.
The overall design looks a lot like the M2 Note, just a bit smaller. You can even see the physical home button below the display as well as the power button on the right.
We still don’t know the pricing of the handset, but it should be somewhere around 599 Yuan, to compete directly with Xiaomi’s Redmi 2A. Meizu has an event later this month, on June 30. We could either see the new Meizu M2 or the new top-end flagship for 2015, Meizu MX5.
Unfortunately, it could be any of the two, so its best to wait and see what the company has in store for us at the event.
