Home  »  Gadget • News • Xiaomi  »  Xiaomi to release Commemorative Edition of Mi Router on September 19, costs 999 RMB (162.89 USD) This afternoon, Xiaomi announced that on September 19, 12:00 PM, they would release the “Mi Router Commemorative Edition” which will cost 999 RMB. Purchases would still be made via pre-ordering. Unlike the regular version, the Commemorative Edition would come in a re-issued wooden case with the router’s components inside, allowing the user to set up the router by himself or herself.The Commemorative Edition has the same specs as the regular version. It will use the 1.0GHz BCM4709 Cortex-A9 dual-core processor, has 256MB DDR3-1600 RAM and 16MB RAM, as well as a 2.5-inch 1TB hard-disk. It will also support 2.4G/5G dual-frequency Wi-FI and comes with two dual-frequency antennas. It also supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and has a USB 2.0 port.

Now, there is the issue of how much is in stock. This afternoon, Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun, said in his Weibo account that over 1 million Mi 4 phones should be in stock by the end of the month. Not only that, he expects 1.5 million phones to be finished by next month. He said that since the Mi 4 is made using stainless steel architecture, the production process is easier.

On September 9, Xiaomi launched the Mi 4 China Mobile 4G Version. Since then, they have not made any announcements about a China Unicom Version…until today. Lei Jun announced in his Weibo account that a China Mobile 4G version of the Mi 4 is currently undergoing tests. So, it looks like this new version will come out soon.According to reports on the Mi 4, the China Unicom 4G version will use a frame made of stainless steel, sport a 5-inch 1080p display screen, and use the Snapdragon 801 processor. It will also have 3GB RAM, support TD/FDD-LTE networks, and also run on the MIUI 6.

In September 2014, Xiaomi donated $25,000,000 to iHealth. Now, both companies have teamed up to release a smart blood pressure dock that could be used with the Mi phone and it costs 199 RMB (32.14 USD). At the base is the microSIM slot that could be used to connect the device to a cellphone. Right now, official statements say that it only supports Red Mi and Mi Phone cellphones.
